European Tourism Gold Stars Award To Europa Traditionae Consortium Europe Traditionae Consortium is a group of five organisations, with an offer of 545 houses distributed by Wolsey Lodges (250) – United Kingdom; TURIHAB – Solares de Portugal (100) – Portugal; Hidden Ireland (45) – Ireland; Chateau Accueil (90) – France and Erfgoed Logies (60) – Holland. Monday, 18th March, at 14.00hours at the ICC of the ITB Berlin, the European Traditionae Consortium is going to receive the European Tourism Gold Star Award for the project of cooperation Europe of Traditions. The TURIHAB is the manager and the promoter of this link and in the quality its president Francisco de Calheiros is going to receive the prize awarded by FEDAJT – European Federation of the Associations of Tourism Journalists. Promoting the patrimony and the hospitality of Europe private houses was the main objective of the net Europe Traditionae Consortium, nevertheless it was remarked by its capacity in cooperation and internationalisation of the involved associations. The project “An Atlantic Tourist Destination in the Europe of Traditions”, created under INTERREG IIC, had as main objective the interchange of knowledge between partners and also the enlargement of the consortium. This network has permitted the growth of the concept Europe of Traditions to the so called eastern countries through the program Ecos-Ouverture. The TURIHAB in conjunction with the CCRN – Comissão de Coordenação da Região Norte (North of Portugal Coordination Commission) was a good example to the regions inside the project, mainly in Deutschland (Baviera-Upper-Franconia), Slovenia (Ljubljana), Hungary (vas County) and promoting the creation of similar associations in these countries. Along 2002 and next year the Europe of Tradition’s network will be enlarged to Brazil under the program PON “Europe of Traditions – a transatlantic vision”. |
